MetroPlan Orlando recently participated in Teach-In for Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties. Teach-In is an annual event allowing businesses, organizations, parents and friends to become teachers for the day.

In Orange County, kindergartners at Hillcrest Language School learned about the benefits of keeping our air clean, and ways they could help. Each student was encouraged to:
- Tell their parents to mow the grass during cooler parts of the day
- Carpool and use the bus
- Bike, skate, job or walk as many places as possible
The students at Denn John Middle School in Osceola County learned the importance of using mass transit and riding bikes to help maintain good air quality.
In Seminole County, the students at Winter Springs High School learned what transportation plans were being made for Central Florida and how they could be more involved.
