Plans
METROPLAN ORLANDO produces a variety of plans and programs designed to guide the transportation planning process in Central Florida.
2030 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) - 20 Year Plan
The 2030 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) serves as a guide for the development of our region's transportation system
over the next 20 years. It not only addresses the vast current needs, but also those that have been identified through forecasting future travel demand. The 2030 Plan emphasizes transportation options as the key to a successful, balanced system, including highways, buses, rail, bicycle and pedestrian facilities. Strategies like congestion management and freight planning are also important pieces of the plan. The Long Range Transportation Plan is updated every five years.
Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) - 5 Year Plan
While the 2025 Plan provides a long term guide for development of our regional transportation system, the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) actually programs and schedules projects for completion. This five year prioritized plan describes specifically which transportation improvements will be implemented and when. Traditional transportation projects, such as highway and transit, are included in the program. Aviation and bicycle/pedestrian projects are also included, contributing to a balanced, multi-modal system. The TIP is updated every year to add new projects to the list and remove those that have been completed.
METROPLAN ORLANDO now has an interactive TIP Web site which allows you to search for project details according to your needs. Click here to experience our interactive TIP.
Bicycle & Pedestrian Plans
These plans focus on the development of a network of trails, sidewalks, and bicycle lanes. The plans outline how proposed road projects could incorporate bicycle and pedestrian facilities to make Central Florida more bicyclist and pedestrian-friendly.
