Sunshine Law
METROPLAN ORLANDO operates under Florida’s Government-in-the-Sunshine law. This law provides a right of access for the public to governmental proceedings at both the state and local levels. It applies to any gathering of two or more members of the same board to discuss some matter which will foreseeably come before that board for action.
Therefore, all meetings of the METROPLAN ORLANDO Board, its committees (CAC, BPAC, TTC, MAC, TDLCB) and subcommittees (Freight Mobility Working Group, Land Use, Plans & Programs, Rail Stakeholders Group, Central Florida Clean Air Team and Management & Operations) are open to the public. In addition, reasonable notice of meetings of the Board and committees must be given.
In addition, the Sunshine Law also applies to all discussions or deliberations. The law is applicable to any gathering, whether formal or casual, of two or more members of the same board or commission.
