To help carry out the transportation goals of the region, METROPLAN ORLANDO employs 18 staff members that work together as a team.

The Transportation Planning Department provides the hands-on technical expertise that is needed for the development of transportation models, plans and programs. They are primarily responsible for the development of the Long Range Transportation Plan, the Transportation Improvement Program and providing staff support to the Transportation Technical Committee and the Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee.

The Finance and Administration Department's top priority is managing the organization's budget, including the development of the Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP). The UPWP is developed annually to target goals and objectives that are to be accomplished by METROPLAN ORLANDO staff. In addition to overseeing the annual budget, they also develop investment strategies and seek funding opportunities to maximize financial resources. The department also manages personnel-related functions of METROPLAN ORLANDO.

The Department of System Management and Operations fosters the development of efficiencies in the Transportation network within the METROPLAN ORLANDO area. It coordinates planning activities for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Congestion Management System (CMS), regional Traffic Incident Management (TIM) and Transportation Demand Management Programs. A strategic function of the department is to cultivate regional coordination as a single system with implementation under local control. In this role, the department manages and operates the transportation system so that it meets performance or exceeds customer expectation for mobility of the region.

The Public Affairs and Strategic Planning Department oversees all of the organization's promotional and public relations endeavors. They ensure an emphasis is placed on citizen participation through developing a public involvement program, participating in tradeshows, facilitating public speaking opportunities and capitalizing on media opportunities to promote significant transportation initiatives. The department also maintains a Resource Library for the public to research transportation issues both in print and on-line, manages the organization's Web site and provides staff support to the Citizens' Advisory Committee, Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board and the Central Florida Clean Air Team.

The Board Services Department provides support for the METROPLAN ORLANDO Board and all committees. They coordinate the logistics for all meetings, pubic hearings and events for METROPLAN ORLANDO.
