Interactive Tools

The interactive tools below are specifically designed to help local government planners create a transportation system that is diverse, safe, and efficient.  Most of the planning tools can also be used by the general public.

MetroPlan Orlando's interactive bicycling map system allows you to create a customized map showing information that best suits your needs.  The system allows you to view several layers of information, including: trails, streets with bike lanes and paved shoulders, streets with wide curb lanes, interaction levels (a measure of how much interaction with motor traffic the on-roadway bicyclist can expect), short connector paths, overpasses and underpasses, and neighborhood routes.  For more information, contact Mighk Wilson at 407-481-5672 x318.

The annually updated Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a five year plan that programs projects for funding. This short-range plan sets the schedule for immediate improvements to the region's transportation system.  MetroPlan Orlando's interactive TIP allows you to search for project details according to your specific needs.

The crash database allows MetroPlan Orlando's local government partners to access crash data and automated analysis tools from one easy-to-access location.  Improved access to such information makes it easier to plan for safety improvements throughout the region.  Since the database contains crash reports with personal information, these details are only available to local government planners.  To obtain a username and password, contact Tung-Lung Cheng at 407-481-5672 x304.

The LYNX Mapping Tool allows you to search for a specific address and find the closest bus route and bus stop.  Additionally, you can find out if the stop has a shelter or bench and pull the bus schedule information for the given time point.  This tool is also connected to information for bike lines and biking trails contained in MetroPlan Orlando's bicycle mapping tool.
