- One traffic death occurred on average every 44 hours
- 55 persons were injured in crashes per day - about 2.3 injuries every hour
- In year 2010, one out of every 90 people in the region was injured in a crash
- 62 traffic crashes occurred per day - about 2.6 crashes every hour (long-form crashes)
Pedestrian Crash Facts - 2010
- Regionally, pedestrian crashes represented three percent of the total reported traffic crashes. However, they accounted for nearly 30 percent of all traffic crash deaths.
- Statewide Comparison: 57 out of the 499 (11.4 percent) pedestrian fatalities occurred in the three-county area.
Bicyclist Crash Facts - 2010
- There were 413 bicyclist crashes in the MetroPlan Orlando region in 2010, representing 1.8 percent of all traffic crashes and 3.5 percent of all traffic crash deaths.
- Statewide Comparison: seven out of the 76 (9 percent) bicyclist fatalities occurred in the MetroPlan Orlando region.
