A MetroPlan Orlando public opinion survey of transportation issues found that more than 80% of Central Floridians believe the region needs a more balanced transportation system - including increased transit options like trains and buses.

Due to the limited number of seats on the MetroPlan Orlando Board, only the most populated cities in the three-county area are represented on the board. The Municipal Advisory Committee (MAC) ensures the views of elected officials from cities that do not have direct representation on the board are a part of the transportation decision-making process.
